5 Tips to Get Started with Proman

Alex Rivera3 min read

Getting started with a new tool can feel like a chore. You sign up, stare at an empty dashboard, and wonder where to begin.

Proman is designed to get you productive fast. Here are five tips to set up your workspace and start managing projects in under 10 minutes.

1. Follow the Onboarding Wizard

When you sign up for the first time, Proman walks you through a guided setup wizard. Don’t skip it. The wizard helps you:

  • Name your workspace
  • Set your team size
  • Choose your first project template (Kanban, Scrum, or blank)
  • Configure your notification preferences

It takes about 2 minutes and saves you from hunting through settings later.

2. Replay the Guided Tours

After onboarding, every major view in Proman has a built-in guided tour. Look for the tour icon in the toolbar — clicking it walks you through that view’s features step by step.

The tours cover everything from creating your first task to setting up sprint boards to generating invoices. If you ever feel lost in a view, the tour is the fastest way to get oriented.

3. Invite Your Team Early

Proman is built for collaboration. The sooner you invite your team, the sooner you’ll see the value:

  1. Go to Workspace Settings → Members
  2. Click Invite Members
  3. Enter their email addresses

They’ll receive an invite link and can sign up for free. You can assign roles (Admin, Member, Viewer) to control who can edit projects and manage billing.

4. Start with One Project

Resist the urge to set up everything at once. Start with a single project — your most active one:

  • Create the project and add your current tasks
  • Set up a board view (Kanban is a good starting point)
  • Start tracking time on a few tasks to build the habit

Once that project feels comfortable, expand to others. Proman’s workspace scales with you — there’s no penalty for starting small.

5. Turn on Time Tracking from Day One

Even if you don’t bill clients by the hour, time tracking gives you visibility into where your team’s effort goes. Proman makes it effortless:

  • One-click timers: Start a timer on any task. Forget to stop it? Edit the entry later.
  • Manual entry: Prefer logging time at the end of the day? That works too.
  • Weekly reports: See a breakdown by project, person, or billable status.

If you do bill clients, tracked time feeds directly into invoicing — no spreadsheets, no double-entry.

What’s Next?

Once you’re set up, explore the Discussion tab for project-level conversations, the Calendar view for deadline planning, and the Analytics dashboard for project health metrics.
